20.5 Seasons


  Zeitangaben können sich auch auf Jahreszeiten beziehen.

En automne, les feuilles tombent des arbres.
= In autumn the leaves fall from the trees.

En été, je vais nager.
= In summer I go swimming.
Je dois en avoir fini avant l’hiver.
= It must be finished until winter.
A partir de l’automne, nous n’aurons plus d’argent.
= Starting in autumn we do not have any more money.


Together with prepositions the French seasons are mostly used with the article.

= In general hunting is allowed from autumn to winter.

= De Robien confirms that Air France will be privatised beginning of summer or autumn.
Ca a changé à partir de l’été 2000.
= Starting in spring 2000 it has changed.
