French has a strict logic in telling the time. In French first the full hour is mentioned, then the minutes added that have past since the full hour until 30 minutes. With the 31st minute, minutes are substracted from the coming full hour.
Telling the date is rather simple, even if there are some specialties to be taken into account. However, we will get to the details a bit later.
